Your mission

We run a regenerative farm in the Spreewald, southeast of Berlin. The aim of the farm is to regenerate agricultural land and co-create a functioning agricultural and holistic ecosystem. The farm supplies fresh and vital ingredients for the kitchen of the Michelberger Restaurant in Berlin.

We are looking for a horticulturist to take on a managerial role within a complex, multi-tiered forest garden system, starting on 1 June 2026:
  • Planning and carrying out cultivation work (e.g. in outdoor fruit, berry, perennial, herb and vegetable crops)
  • Planning and managing crops in the market garden, as well as carrying out practical tasks
  • Educational work in the form of guided tours of the syntropic food forest, as well as training staff and interns
  • Planning, fertilising and carrying out maintenance work
  • Management of crops, e.g. pruning of fruit trees and biomass trees
  • Ordering of seedlings, seeds and necessary supplies
  • Recording and documentation of harvest produce
  • Operation and maintenance of the irrigation system
  • Maintenance and repair of technical equipment (lawnmowers, battery-powered tools and tractor)

Your profile

  • Completed training as a master gardener (specialising in vegetable, ornamental or fruit cultivation) or a comparable qualification; ideally with knowledge of Demeter, Waldgarten or Bioland farming methods.
  • Sound specialist knowledge of plant cultivation in horticultural/agricultural production, as well as knowledge of plant diseases and pests.
  • The ability to work independently, quick on the uptake, a willingness to learn, as well as reliability and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a team, resilience and the ability to keep a clear head even during busy periods.
  • Good written and spoken German and English, as well as proficiency in Excel.
  • Category B driving licence (ideally with a trailer licence) or a willingness to operate agricultural machinery.
  • Knowledge of wild herbs and mushrooms is desirable.
  • Ability to work at altitude
